Born in Birmingham, England in the
1960's, Geoff Bunn spent
several years as an engineer before returning to the British collegiate
system wherein he studied Philosophy
- ultimately turning down
a PhD at the University of Bath.
Primarily an artist philosopher, and so
perhaps
naturally attracted to Conceptualism
Bunn travelled widely during the
mid-1990's. And it was during this period, most notably in Scandinavia whilst
painting large "vague" canvases, that he met other artists with whom he formed what came to
be known as 'Neither (sometimes, wrongly, New) Conceptualism'. Bunn then produced his Unfound work - which first brought him to the attention of some art groups and circles. And he still formulates new ideas and 'Clues' for this work.
But today he has changed direction again..
Now living in rural France, Bunn paints what he calls "rather simple pieces" which lie "somewhere on a line between hope and reality. Sometimes closer to one end rather than the other".
